Established in Sri Lanka in 1997, Borneo Exotics propagates the widest variety of Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants)anywhere in the world and are continuously selectively breeding new and more horticulturally desirable hybrids and cultivars, using entirely state-of-the-art and conservation-friendly techniques. To date, we have bred more than 2,000 different hybrids, a number completely unmatched by any other facility, and have carefully selected the best of them to multiply in sterile culture in our laboratories. Some are sold directly from the laboratory and others are transferred to our nursery facilities to be grown-on prior to commercial release.
Managed by the world’s leading authorities in the field of Nepenthes, Borneo Exotics has won numerous awards around the world, including 5 gold medals and two Special Annual Awards at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower show. All our produce is artificially propagated using mother stock which themselves were raised from legally collected seeds.
